But Sign of the Cat! You have to have a cougar if you have a Cougar!
![]() 08/29/2016 at 16:45 |

The big question for me is what the hell does he want them for after the cougar is gone?
![]() 08/29/2016 at 16:46 |

“for sale: stuffed cougars $1140..............comes with a car”
![]() 08/29/2016 at 16:46 |

He’s just being greedy, he could at least share one of the little ones...
![]() 08/29/2016 at 16:47 |

With “minimal rust” I’m sure he’d describe it as.
![]() 08/29/2016 at 16:47 |
|
Maybe he’s going to put them on top of a different type of cougar .
![]() 08/29/2016 at 16:48 |

Get a Corvette to attract real cougars.
![]() 08/29/2016 at 16:49 |

Given the exterior, I was expecting three decades of trash, grime, tears, and cracks with some missing/loose trim to boot.
![]() 08/29/2016 at 16:52 |

“open floor driving experience”............ with as hard as those doors are rusted, the floors arent far behind....... but hey, 302...........
![]() 08/29/2016 at 16:54 |
|
You were better off without it
![]() 08/29/2016 at 16:59 |

only reason it popped up in search was because RWD and V8
![]() 08/29/2016 at 16:59 |

Oh, you’re no fun.
![]() 08/29/2016 at 17:02 |

Did somebody say “stuffed cougar”?

Lol, that one only got clicked on because stuffed cougars.
I really want a Fox Capri to rallycross but it may end up being a Fox Mustang. I was trying to get creative and see if a slightly bigger (which is unfortunate) cougar or t-bird was a good option or not. I mean, if their was an amazing example for drastically less money it’d be worth considering at least.

I should’ve saw this joke coming.
Well done sir

I know, I know... low hanging fruit, right?
![]() 08/30/2016 at 10:15 |

I’m guessing her doctor made it so those don’t have the ability to hang low...

there are the occasional marquis, and fairmonts........maverics, from the 70s
Ford exp - $3000 (fwd 4cyl auto)
do they still let you run trucks in rallycross??
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
these are from my part of the world............
![]() 08/30/2016 at 10:59 |
|
They do allow trucks but I’m not interested in a pickup for it.
Nice find on the EXP! But I really want to go RWD for maximum fun. I think the EXP would be really, really cool though and I was looking for one just yesterday. There was a black one for sale near me not that long ago for about 2 grand.
![]() 08/30/2016 at 11:11 |
|
for a while my friends had about a dozen of them rangers....... fun little trucks...... maybe an OLD truck??........ where is your local craigslist.......and the top of your budget............might be fun to look about see what shows up........
![]() 08/30/2016 at 11:26 |
|
Well, a RWD pickup would be almost impossible for RallyX, no weight on the rear tires at all haha.
Detroit Metro area is my CL area.
Current possibilities:
http://limaohio.craigslist.org/cto/5747028600…
http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/cto/5720604978…
Max budget is about 2500 bucks but that’ll depend on what the Montego sells for.
If it’s a fox body I absolutely need to buy a strut tower/firewall brace, sub frame ties, new rear control arms immediately before racing it, I’d like to do some nice tires and an extra set of rims as well. Hatchback (fox bodies) lend towards me being able to drive to the race and then swap tires when I get there - should be room in the back for the extra set.
Preferably RWD, V8, Manual.

THERE is some real cool stuff in your area...............
Ford Torino GT 1968 - $1500 (South Lyon)
1976 Lincoln Mark IV - $1200 (Hartland)
i know this next one is ugly, but check out the description
1975 Ford Granada - $2000 (New Hudson)
i know its a bit BIG.......but its got a 429
1972 MERCURY COLONY PARK STATION WAGON - $600 (LINCOLN PARK, MI)
the guy is standing 20 feet back, struggling to get the whole car in the shot
i know i forgot to ask the first go around, but ford only?? and i saw that most of your search turn ups, were around the mustang platform. also how much work can you/willing to do yourself....... say a body here, or a motor there?
![]() 08/30/2016 at 13:26 |
|
I’d prefer it running and driving, I can handle some mechanical and almost no body. I can tear a part a motor (but no experience on transmissions).
I would prefer Mercury - Ford will do. Smaller the better because lighter and more nimble = better race car.
And the first one doesn’t help it’s basically what I’m about to sell in worse shape! haha
In general there’s always cool stuff for sale on the Detroit area craigslist - it’s why I spend so much time on there hahahaha. That’s why I’m also taken by surprise when people are like “I can’t find this type of muscle car”.
![]() 08/30/2016 at 14:05 |

65 mustang - $1300 (otter lake)
no pics in the post......... but it would be entertaining to see what it looked like.......
![]() 08/30/2016 at 15:04 |
|
Need complete restoration, may as well not see the pics.
And I can’t use an older than Fox Mustang, you can’t easily (and cheaply) tie the frame to stiffen it.
![]() 08/30/2016 at 15:10 |
|
okay..........some of these guys that put the “need total resto” have already gotten beaten down on price and condition by “real deal” shops and “experts”.......... does it need to be “pretty”??.....
![]() 08/30/2016 at 15:17 |
|
This being high on my list kind of proves it doesn’t need to be pretty:
And if this one didn’t have what I expect is a massive leaking hole in the roof I’d probably already own it:
http://flint.craigslist.org/ctd/5725995405…
Shame it’s an auto, but nothing else is going to have a 351 on it.
![]() 08/30/2016 at 15:28 |
|
those are some downright NICE looking starting points..........
![]() 08/30/2016 at 15:40 |
|
I’m assuming that the guy selling the one with a 351 one it doesn’t realize having a 5 lug wheel setup is a HUGE deal.
I wonder how much it takes to seal up a sunroof...
![]() 08/30/2016 at 15:44 |
|
i guess that if you got angered enough at the leak, that you could cut out a donor patch section from another mustang........

1978 Ford Fairmont - $400 (capac)
![]() 09/07/2016 at 12:45 |

Unfortunately that doesn’t have an engine block lol
![]() 09/07/2016 at 14:43 |

yeah, i know. it was looking pretty tempting though...........being so clean and all.......
![]() 09/07/2016 at 16:47 |

If I can get as much for the Montego as I’m hoping for....

that is a real nice looking one.......
![]() 09/07/2016 at 16:58 |

ITS GORGEOUS.
Someone give me money so I can buy it.
I doubt he’ll negotiate the thing looks perfect.

1981 mercury capri 5.0 - $2500 (Cloverdale)
i’m a bit concerned about the part where it says “needs oil pump”...........
![]() 09/07/2016 at 18:39 |
|
oil pump is a really easy fix I’m just worried about what could have been damaged on the way to discovering it needed one.
Oh, and it’s already on my list haha.
